Presidential Proclamation No. 316 s. 2017 signed by then president Rodrigo Duterte declares the whole month of September as a Maritime Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month to synchronize the celebration of all maritime-related events in a single month. Tañon Strait Protected Seascape - Protected Area Management Office (TSPS-PAMO), as one of the offices that manages and conserves the marine environment, joins in celebrating the MANA Mo 2024 with a unifying theme Pamana ng Karagatan: Para sa Kinabukasan, Ating Ingatan.

In support of this celebration, TSPS PAMO through its Site Management Units conducts Dalaw-Turo Activity in schools surrounding TSPS to foster community engagement and responsibility towards the youth. The activity's objective is to deepen the understanding of students towards the significance of maritime conservation while putting emphasis on the importance of the protection in maintaining the balance of our marine resources.

The schools visited were the following:
• Polo High School of Polo, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental
• Ajong National High School, Ajong Negros Oriental
• Washington National High School of Washington, Negros Occidental
• Sta. Filomena National High School of Sta. Filomena, Alegria, Cebu
• Nangka National High School of Nangka, Balamban, Cebu
• Manjuyod National High School, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental
• Tayasan National High School, Tayasan, Negros Oriental

Aligned with the directive from DENR Central Visayas, the activity through audio-visual presentations, comprehensively explored several key concepts. These concepts included the importance of biodiversity, the establishment of National Integrated Protected Area System (NIPAS) Law, and the significance of continuous support in the preservation and conservation of TSPS. Additionally, the activity also highlighted the MANA Mo 2024 Celebration, discussed the Sustainable Development Goals, and provided insights into the concept of protected area.

Each topic discussed aims to provide the students a deeper understanding of environmental conservation and foster deeper connection to their surroundings making them potential valuable stewards of the environment.
